Despite painting the curbs, yellow cars continue to parking in prohibited spots near the Oriskany Falls main intersection. Cars have been parking on the Thrift Store side of the street, which is not allowed, and in spots on the Tallman’s Diner side that are not open for parking. Cannabis Zones Marked In Town
The Town of Kirkland will look at defining two areas where cannabis shops can set up. At last week’s Kirkland Town Board meeting, Town Attorney Anthony Hallak said there is renewed interest in cannabis establishments in the Town. Discussions earlier this year looked at restrictions on the maximum size of the lot and where the store could go. Kirkland defined two zones. Boot Camp Fitness
Area veterans visited Memorial Park School last week to see the program for Veterans Day and be thanked by the students. Students did a Fitness Boot Camp led by Lisa Briggs of Fit Body Boot Camp and sang songs for the veterans. More photos, Page 6


WCS Plans MPS Doors Project
Waterville Central School District plans a project to replace doors at Memorial Park School next year. WCS Superintendent Zach Abbe said at this month’s WCS Board of Education meeting that March Associates met with contractors at the Elementary School for a walk-through. Bids on the project are due Nov. 20. Board members would approve the bids at their Dec. 9 meeting. The project will need review by the State Education Department before it can start. Short-Term Rentals Law In Discussion In Clinton
To preserve the quality of its residential areas, the Village of Clinton will request that owners of short-term rental properties register with the Village. The decision goes along with the upcoming regulations by Oneida County, which start Jan. 1. The County will require all short-term rental owners to register and have them subject to the county’s 5 percent occupancy tax that hotels and motels pay.
