Creating a five-year financial plan would help the Waterville Central School District alleviate an upcoming financial crisis. Dr. Rick Timbs, who owns a financial consulting business geared to public schools, gave a 90-minute presentation on the District’s future finances. A slight increase in water rates for those on the Village of Waterville’s system will help cover the costs of operation. A public hearing at last week’s Waterville Village Board meeting had no comments from the public. The new rates begin June 1. All users will pay an additional $5 user fee per quarter.
