WCS Plans MPS Doors Project

Waterville Central School District plans a project to replace doors at Memorial Park School next year.
WCS Superintendent Zach Abbe said at this month’s WCS Board of Education meeting that March Associates met with contractors at the Elementary School for a walk-through.
Bids on the project are due Nov. 20.
Board members would approve the bids at their Dec. 9 meeting.
The project will need review by the State Education Department before it can start.
School Business Executive Cynthia Amarosa said reserve funds will be used for the start of the project, then the District will look at short-term and then long-term borrowing.
An advertisement has gone out for a new Building and Grounds supervisor.
The vacancy came when Tom Gleasman died last month.
Abbe said he hopes to have a candidate for Board approval at the December meeting.
Superintendents in the region are discussing the impact of services affected by the government shutdown, Abbe said.
