Budget Gap Drops With Adjustments
Some adjustments to expenses and revenues for next year have brightened the outlook for the 2026-27 budget for Waterville Central School District. WCS Superintendent Zach Abbe said at last week’s meeting that a few areas were trimmed to bring the budget down to $23,474,688. Kirkland Looks At Later Times
The Kirkland Town Board will conduct a survey to see if their meeting time should change. At last week’s Town Board meeting, the discussion continued on whether the 5 p.m. start prevented people from attending. About a dozen residents were at the meeting with most of them speaking about concerns on solar commercial projects in the Town. WCS Relocates Sixth Graders For Next Year
Next year’s sixth grade class at Waterville Central School District will move up to the Junior-Senior High School a year early. This year’s fifth graders will follow this year’s sixth graders in making the transition to the secondary school to accommodate the schedule needed for installing air conditioning at Memorial Park School. Plan Proposed For MPS Sixth Graders In Fall
Waterville Central School has scheduled a meeting for parents of fifth graders to discuss where they will attend school next year. The March 25 meeting at 6 p.m. in the Auditorium will outline an idea to have next year’s sixth graders attend school at the junior-Senior High because of the construction project at Memorial Park.
