Timeline Set For Marshall Water Work
The June 9 meeting of the Town of Marshall Board opened with the approval of the minutes of the May 12 meeting. A question was asked of the Board during the public comment portion of the meeting about the time limit for the proposed nursery on VanHyning Road. Cooling Down Fun With The Fire Department
The Waterville Fire Department created a water park last week during the 90-plus degree heat to allow kids—and some adults—to cool off. Temperatures reached a feel-like high of up to 110 as the area joined most of the country in a heat wave.

Fireworks Over Oriskany Falls
The Village of Oriskany Falls put on its annual Fireworks Over the Falls with music, games, food and fireworks. The day began with a 5K race. Collin Smith won his age group. At the grill were Joanna Eisenhut, Matt Bowie and Brian Bell.

Waterville Celebrates 250
Despite the rain the Waterville Historical Society led a celebration of America’s 250th year with activities in the Village Park. Along with food and games, the afternoon included music and remembrances of July 4, 1776. A coordinated ringing of the bells 13 times throughout the Village took place at 2:50 p.m. to also mark the day. Residents Want Property Issues Taken Care Of
The Town of Kirkland Board met Monday evening to discuss new business. Residents met with the Board to discuss a neighboring property. The residents described the property and house as falling into disrepair with wildlife and overgrowth. The Board discussed the process for having the house condemned. Louis J. Gale & Son Feed Mill of Waterville received the Commitment to Waterville award from Waterville First. Andy Gale, third generation of Gales to run the Mill, and Ed Gale, whose father started the business 75 years ago, accepted the award from WF Vice President John Brouillette during a reception at the Waterville Historical Society.
