When the annual Parade of Lights had to be cancelled due to weather for the first time in its history, some community members organized a parade for the Saturday before Christmas. Santa and Mrs. Claus met with children at the Waterville firehouse and gave each of them a candy cane and sticker.

Clinton’s rescheduled Shoppers Stroll parade took place Friday night. Despite the cold, people stood along the route to cheer on the floats and marchers and to collect candy. More photos, Page 6

Twelve Waterville Junior-Senior High School students competed in the District’s 152nd annual Prize Speaking Contest last week. The event is believed to be the oldest continuous one in the United States. Monetary prizes were sponsored by the Waterville Rotary Club and Brothertown Optimist Club.
