Timeline Set For Marshall Water Work

The June 9 meeting of the Town of Marshall Board opened with the approval of the minutes of the May 12 meeting.


A question was asked of the Board during the public comment portion of the meeting about the time limit for the proposed nursery on VanHyning Road.


Attorney Bill Schmitt responded that Dan Williams was granted six months from the date the zoning permit was issued, which was at the last Board meeting.


The Town will follow up on this. In their brief report, the only business the Planning Board had before them was the separation of property from the agriculture field for Collins’s Farm.


The Zoning Board of Appeals meeting was quiet, other than a resident who needed some direction on whether she should first go to the Planning Board or the Codes Enforcement Officer.


That matter was handled by ZBA Chairperson Jamie McNair. ZBA member Jake Addington reported on the meeting regarding the Comprehensive Plan—Planning for Places—at the Town Highway building May 21.


About 50-60 people came and left their comments which the committee collected and will review.


There was a lot of discussion and exchange of ideas.


The Survey is open until July.


Dan Yoxall reported 632,000 gallons of water were treated for May, with a daily average of 20,000 gallons.


He then proceeded to bring everyone up to date on the water improvement project.


The release of funds from the CDBG grant should be soon. Once that happens, CPL (the engineering firm) and Municipal Solutions, the grant administrator, will be contacted to schedule meetings.


Yoxall addressed the question from Board Member Ken Ford on the time line of the project.


He predicted the completion would be at least next year, and maybe the year after.
