Holidays Celebrated
Waterville Baptist Church hosted its annual Christmas caroling evening for all who wanted to come, sing and hear the story of the birth of Jesus. Pastor Daniel Nelson invited all the children who attended to sing ‘Silent Night’ during the program. Oriskany Falls FD Weighs Three Bids
Three bids came in for the project to refurbish a fire truck in the Oriskany Falls Fire Department fleet. Fire commissioners and Oriskany Falls Village Board members reviewed the bids at last week’s Board meeting. The three bids were relatively close, ranging from $288,799 to $305,438. Hearing Set On New Law For Short-Term Rentals
Residents of Clinton and those who own short-term rentals in the Village can weigh in on a proposed law to regulate the rentals. Board members and Village Attorney William Schmitt discussed the draft of the law at last week’s Village Board meeting. Trustee Vacancy Filled For Village
The Village of Waterville has a new trustee on the Village Board. Kayleigh Conners filled the vacancy created at the end of November when Alex Hilley resigned. Hilley, who had not attended the last several Board meetings, was in his first term. Conners was appointed through March and will need to run for the seat then. She said she plans to do so. Historical Marker Request In Works
The Brimfield Cemetery could receive a plaque noting its place as a burial ground for American Revolutionary soldiers. At last week's Kirkland Town Board meeting, Town Historian Mike Revenaugh said information is being given to the Pomeroy Foundation for a historical sign at the cemetery.
