Beef Council Honors Deansboro Farmer

The New York Beef Council announced that Troy Bishopp of Deansboro has been named the 2025 Beef Promoter of the Year.

This award recognizes producers who go above and beyond raising beef to actively educate consumers, engage communities, and promote the industry across New York State.

Bishopp’s dedication to sharing his knowledge, mentoring farmers, and connecting the public to the story of beef production exemplifies the spirit of this honor.

Affectionately known as “The Grass Whisperer,” Bishopp brings more than 40 years of hands-on experience in grazing management and beef production.

He operates Bishopp Family Farm, a six-generation Century Farm in Deansboro, with his wife, Corrine and family, raising 100% grass-finished beef and providing custom grazing services for fellow producers.
