Oriskany Falls Accepts Bid For New Truck

The Village of Oriskany Falls heard no comments from residents during a public hearing at their January meeting.


The hearing was to override the 2026 tax cap limit. The step is taken in case the 2026-27 budget needs to go over the tax cap as set by the state.


Also at the January meeting, a request was made by the Oriskany Falls Fire Department Commissioners to show the fire department revenue on a separate line on the village tax bill.


Village Clerk Amber Bell explained the village shows fire department revenue in their budget.


Fire Commissioners also shared their views on the bids for refurbishing Engine 2.


Board members followed the recommendation and approved the bid from Har-Rob of $299,911.


Once details of payment are known the Board will take out a bond for the work.


Christina Bruno and Jeff Connolly were approved as members of the fire department.


During department report discussions, Board members suggested creating a work order for meter replacements and other work needed by the DPW.


The monthly bills were paid and transfers in the budget approved. Barbara Misiaszek was reappointed to another five-year term to the Clark Memorial Library Board.


The United Methodist Church Board will discuss in March the Village’s idea for a digital message board that would be placed on the church’s front lawn.
