Next week’s issue of the Waterville Times will include our annual "Oh, What A Beautiful Baby" edition. Started in 2003, each year the Times introduces the babies born the previous year whose families submitted information.

With perfect late August weather the annual Clinton Art and Music Festival drew people to the Clinton Village Green and Park Row for music, art, food and activities. Vendors filled the Park and along West Park Row, which included activities for children. More photos, Page 6

At their July meeting the Sangerfield Town Board hired a new Dog Control Officer. Anne Brown was approved for the position. Wanderers’ Rest was approved as the new dog shelter for Sangerfield. Town Supervisor Bill Lachmann said he met with the Village of Waterville regarding the proposed Intermunicipal Water agreement. After the village has their next meeting revisions will be made to the contract and it will be resubmitted to the Town for review again. The two municipalities

The Town of Marshall monthly Board meeting took place Tuesday, Aug. 11. The minutes of the July 14 meeting were approved. The meeting was conducted by Supervisor Colleen Baldwin. There were no public comments, other than a question concerning the new Codes Enforcement Officer, Bob Harris. He will be at the September meeting; he had a conflict for this month. The Clark Mills Strong Coalition rescheduled their Community Day: A Day of Remembrance, Resiliency and Honoring First Responders for Sunday, Sept 13. Originally scheduled for July 18, the event was postponed due to a thunderstorm and high winds. The event will now be held, rain or shine, because the Coalition changed the format to a Clark Mills Open House concept, whereby every nonprofit will welcome visitors to their sites which are all located close by on Main Street. The 2026-27 school year began last week with a flurry of activities. Memorial Park School in Waterville had a Back to School Bash the night before students attended their first day. High school sports also opened their Fall seasons; Clinton girls soccer goalie Sadie Gall kicks the ball away during the 2-1 win for the Comets in their opener. Sports, Pages 7, 8.

Work on Waterville Central School’s construction project moved along over the summer to be ready for this week’s Opening Day of school. In a short (6 minutes) meeting last week, the WCS Board of Education approved some staffing changes before heading into a workshop. Rebecca Hoage and Rachel Symonds were hired as teaching assistants.
