

Reservoir Land Still For Sale
The Village of Oriskany Falls will try for a third time to find a buyer for property near the reservoir. At last week’s Oriskany Falls Village Board meeting, Board members decided to ask for sealed bids for the property. An attempt to sell the land with a minimum bid of $50,000 had no new bidders. Flooding Work Continues
The next phase of mitigating flooding in the Village of Waterville will begin along Big Creek. Village DPW Superintendent Jamie Bechy told Village Board members at last week’s meeting that the next phase of the project will run from behind Stewart’s Shop to the village line past the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The state Department of Environmental Conservation is providing financial assistance, as is Oneida County. The County and Village have a total contribution of $136,179.

Waterville Runner Wins State Title
Provided Photos Waterville senior Danny Casatelli finished his high school running career with a state title in the C division of the 1600 meters. Casatelli ran the final in 4:11.16. Casatelli also finished 3rd in the 3200 meters C division. Clinton pole vaulter Jason Leonard finished second in the state in Class C division. Waterville senior Kady Barton took eighth in the state in the Class C long jump finals.

Riding For Kids
Provided Photo Jenna Kocienda, her boyfriend, Eli Pasquale, and his mom, Brandy Pasquale, all recently participated in the Ride for Missing Children as first-time riders. Jenna and Brandy were considered designated riders, riding for a particular family. They are all from the West Winfield area, and Jenna and Eli are 2025 Mount Markham graduates.

Brookfield Central School’s Class of 2026 launched their next steps into the world with a commencement filled with tears, laughs and lots of memories.
