WCS Wants Families To Fill Out Form
Waterville Central School District is looking at ways to get families to fill out the financial form for free or reduced lunches.
At last week’s WCS Board of Education meeting Superintendent Zach Abbe explained why the information is important.
Abbe said showing the District’s family financial picture can help WCS receive more state aid.
One of the forms of state aid is based on the financial status of the District’s families.
Since the pandemic Waterville and all school districts in New York state have received funding to provide free lunches to all students regardless of need.
This has reduced the number of families who fill out the form. The form’s information is used only towards state aid.
The form can be found on the District’s website or can be filled out on paper.
The meeting opened with recognizing some of the new staff members who joined the District this school year.
