WCS Awards Project Bids

During a short meeting last week the Waterville Central School Board of Education heard the final review of the 2026-27 budget.

District residents voted Tuesday, May 19, on the proposed budget.

They also voted for up to three members of the BOE; write-in candidate Jacob Richards attended the meeting.

WCS Superintendent Zach Abbe reviewed during the budget hearing and 25-minute meeting the steps should the budget be voted down.

If a second vote is needed, it will be June 16. The Board can present the same budget or a revised budget.

If that second vote also results in a defeated budget, the District would spend 2026-27 under a reduced spending situation minus non-mandated programs. Board members awarded the bids for the next Capital Project that starts this summer.

Work went to: General Construction Contract to Murnane Building Contractors: Base Bid: $2,086,000; Alternate 2: $68,000; Alternate 4: $42,000; Alternate 5: $143,000; Total Contract Amount: $2,339,000 Mechanical Construction Contract to H.J.
