Waterville Will Buy Field

The Waterville Fire Department and Village of Waterville are working out how to have the Firemen’s Little League Field, barbecue pit and other Department-owned property transfer to the Village.

WFD Chief Jarrod Waufle gave a proposal to the Village Board at last week’s meeting.

The discussion took up much of the two and a half hour meeting.

Last year the pavilion on the site of the Village parking lot off Main Street was torn down.

Waufle said in discussions with the members of the department, the switch in owners made sense, since the Village takes care of the property.

The Village also pays the electric bill and rents the porta-potty used by Little League.

The Department’s proposal included the purchase of two sheds by the Village for the department to use.

One would be near the barbecue pit and the other near the firehouse.
