Waterville Baker’s Time Doesn’t Get Ruined
Waterville Central School graduate Caleb King remains in the hunt for the 2026 Halloween Baking Championship on the Food Network.
King stands as one of the six bakers left after last week’s fourth episode.
The baking challenge show started with 10 bakers from around the country.
Last week’s theme had the bakers create a dessert that copied a ruin, while adding a monster that haunts it.
This was the episode’s only challenge.
Usually the episode includes two baking challenges with a bakeoff for those at the bottom.
They had three hours to put it together.
While King didn’t win or have one of the top desserts, he did well enough to move on to the fifth week.
King created a carrot cake with a pineapple rum compote.
His ruin was an old amphitheater and his monster was a zombie actor.
This coming week, host John Henson sets the six bakers up in head-to-head competitions. Their task is to create demon doll desserts out of cheesecake, Swiss roll or Paris-Brest.
The episode is called Doll Trouble.
The semifinal round is scheduled for Oct. 19 and called Masters of the Macabre.
Bakers are asked to create oil painting desserts with creepy figures.
The bottom three will create witchy desserts with edible candy.
Ancient Rites is scheduled for Oct. 26.
The show airs on the Food Network Mondays at 9 p.m. and Tuesdays on HBO Max.
The winner will receive $25,000.
