Voters Turn Down Brookfield Project

Brookfield Central School District residents rejected the proposed Capital Project last week.


Voting showed 118 voters against, 69 in favor, of the work to upgrade several areas of the school and replace the bus garage.


Cost of the project was estimated at $5.2 million, with 93 percent paid for by New York state.


The project included redoing the locker rooms and a new a bus garage with a lift.


Other work addressed outdated equipment.


BCS Superintendent Ron Pavlus said the Board of Education would discuss the next steps.
