The Town of Richfield decreased some town employee salaries for 2026 in their budget for next year. At the Oct. 16 budget workshop a motion to increase all employee salaries, excluding the Town Board, by 2.5 percent was withdrawn without approval. Salary for the Town Justice was decreased $220 to $14,780. Salary for the Court Clerk was decreased $1,000 to $21,000. Salary for the Town Supervisor was decreased $338 to $13,837. The Town of Brookfield is changing its agreement with Spectrum for the next 10 years. Town Supervisor Loren Corbin explained at last week’s meeting that the 15- year agreement expires this year. He negotiated a new one to run for 10 years. Under the expiring contract Spectrum pays the Town a 2 percent fee based on usage annually. This year that comes to $5,000, Corbin said.
