Volunteer Beautifies Village

The Richfield Springs Area Chamber of Commerce has for many years funded the plantings and maintained the 36 flower boxes that grace Main Street, Richfield Springs.

Four additional flower boxes are at the gateways to the community.

For the last two years, following the many dedicated years by Chamber members Ron and Carole Bayzon, Sara Goodrich, a Chamber Community Supporter, has tirelessly volunteered her time and talents to “take over the reins.”

“Not only did Sara meticulously design the plantings this year in the colors of red, white and blue in honor of America 250 and also the 165th Anniversary of the incorporation of the village of Richfield Springs, she also repaired, painted and built new boxes to replace many that were in desperate need of repair,” said Chamber President Christine Corrigan.

Goodrich is also a dedicated member of the Garden Club of Richfield Springs who also tirelessly continue each year to plant and care for the many plantings in and around Richfield Springs.

The Chamber’s mission is to replace as many of the deteriorating wooden flower boxes as possible with sustainable planters that will last for generations.
