VFW Post 2338 Seeks Help For Needed Repairs

What was once a private home now serves as a home away from home for military veterans in the West Winfield area.
The VFW Post 2338 on Route 20 east of the Village of West Winfield was established in the early 1980s.
The building was constructed in the early 1970s and used for about a dozen years as a home.
The organization expanded in the 1990s by adding the banquet room.
Over the years volunteers patched up the roof and made repairs.
But, like any building, the patching has to some day be replaced by full-on replacements and updates.
And that’s where the VFW finds itself, searching for ways to fix the building to keep the VFW open as a place for veterans and the community to come eat, enjoy music and events, and as the ...
