Tax Bills Saw New Procedure

Dear Mount Markham CSD Community Members,


First and foremost, I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for your patience and understanding with the school district’s new tax collection procedures.


These changes were essential in ensuring the safety and security of our students and staff members, modernizing operations, and streamlining Business Office functions.


Why was this change made?


The number one reason for the change was the safety and security of our students and staff.


A large percentage of our $7.5 million tax base comes in the form of cash deposits.


Our school district is not equipped with the same safety and security measures as you would find at a bank.


Similarly, transporting those large cash deposits from the school to the bank was an unnecessary burden that posed a significant risk to our valued employees and our district’s finances. ...
