Student Heads To The Capital

This summer, Annalise Steinmetz from West Winfield will join outstanding students from across the nation to take part in an academic and career oriented development experience.

Steinmetz, who will be in seventh grade at Mount Markham Middle School in the fall, will participate this month in the Junior National Young Leaders Conference, Washington DC. She is the daughter of Danielle Ligenza and Eric Steinmetz.

Steinmetz was nominated by her homeroom teacher at Mount Markham Middle School for her academic achievements.

She is a straight A student making High Honors every marking period.

In addition, Steinmetz is a member of the band and chorus in school as well as participates in theatre inside and outside of school.

She played Aladdin in the Middle school musical Aladdin and played an ensemble role in the RISE production of Mary Poppins Jr. Steinmetz also participated in NYSMA this year for the first time.

Aside from theatre, Steinmetz is a member of the Middle School Student Council because she wants to make a difference.

She is an avid reader and has started a book club at Mount Markham to encourage reading in her school.

For over 35 years, Envision by WorldStrides has empowered students to become their best selves through programs that enable them to discover their passion, explore a career, and positively impact their world.
