Brookfield softball earned the highest seed and a bye of local baseball and softball teams that qualified for the Section Three playoffs.
The Beavers, the No. 3 seed in Class D at 11-4, will play at home Thursday at 5 p.m. vs. either No. 6 Lyme, 10-6, or No. 11 Lafargeville, 6-9.
The winner of the game at Brookfield moves on to the semifinals Saturday in Oneida.
Waterville softball, seeded No. 13 at 9-9, heads to No. 4 15-2 West Canada Valley Tuesday. The winner moves on to play against Thousand Islands or Onondaga.
Clinton baseball, the No. 15 seed at 8-9 in Class B, had a play-in game Monday at home vs. Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, No. 18 at 4-12. The winner moved on to play No. 2 Little Falls, 17-2, at Little Falls Tuesday night.
Brookfield baseball, the No. 6 seed in Class D at 13-5, plays host to No. 11 Sackets Harbor, 9-8, Tuesday at 5 p.m. The winner moves on to play at No. 3 Belleville-Henderson (14-3) Thursday at 5 p.m.
Baseball semifinals Saturday, May 28 at:
Onondaga Community College at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for Class B
Murnane Field at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for Class D
Championship games Monday, May 30 at OCC are noon for Class D and 3 p.m. for Class C.
Class B championship game at OCC Tuesday, May 31, 6 p.m.
State tournament begins June 2.
