Clinton Central School had four individual Section Three champions in outdoor track and field. Winning a sectional title were John Musante in the 3200, Claire Barone in the Pole Vault, Jenna Deep in Shot Put and Matt Cancilla in the Pole Vault. They all moved on to the state qualifier last week, where Barone finished in a tie for second place among the 70 schools competing in the small school enrollment division at Cicero-North Syracuse. Her previous qualifying mark (and new school record) of 10'5" earned her a spot at the state meet Friday also at CNS. The CCS 4x100 relay team of Cam Maline, Ikenna Dura, Cooper Siddon and Wyatt Wilcox posted their fastest time of the season and also came in second place but did not hit the time to advance. Deep finished second in the shot put but also did not have the advancing mark. She also finished fourth in the discus and was the only girl to make the finals in both throwing events. Cam Maline made it to the final round of the 200 and finished fifth. Lydia Detraglia hit a personal best of 1:09.94 in the 400H to finish sixth. Cancilla finished sixth in the Pole Vault. Sadie Davignon narrowly missed the school record by 0.39 of a second to finish seventh. Waterville’s Adam Eastman finished eighth in the shot put.
