Second Book Released By Local Writer

Jessica Crandall of Waterville has published a second children’s book in her Whispering Waters series.

The book’s colorful illustrations were done by Alexis Davis of Bridgewater.

The second book continues the story of 9-year-old Elena Rose, her friend Charley and Harley, the talking dog.

This book also introduces a unicorn and giraffe to join the adventures and need to be saved after a sorcerer turned them to stone.

Taking place in the Enchanted Forest, the three friends also work their magic with the Heartstone.

This book is published by Newman Springs Publishing and is available on their website or other online sites where books are available as a paperback or e-edition.

Crandall has mapped out a series of books with Elena Rose and friends.

Last year she published her first volume, and the second book continues many of the features introduced.

Writing the second volume was both harder and easier, she said.

Crandall knew where she wanted to go with the story but had to be sure to continue the storyline already set up.

She also had to set up the hook at the end to lead into Volume 3, which she is working on.
