Santa Claus Will Visit This Area

Santa Claus will kick off the Christmas holiday this weekend with some stops in Clinton and Waterville.


The 36th annual Parade of Lights in Waterville hits Main Street at 6:30 Friday night. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in the Bandstand at the Village Park afterwards for children to stop by and share their holiday gift wishes.


This year’s POl’s theme is ‘Christmas at the Movies.’


In Clinton, the Shoppers’ Stroll along Park Row and College Street begins at 10 a.m. Friday and Saturday.


Events include horse and wagon rides from 12 to 4 p.m. both days.


On Friday Santa will be at NBT Bank for kids to stop by and get their photo taken with him from 1 to 3 p.m.


Santa then moves over to the Clinton Historical Society from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday.


The Historical Society will have children’s activities and holiday treats from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday.


At 4 p.m. carol singing will be at the Stone Presbyterian Church. The Clinton High School Chamber Singers will throughout the area singing.


St. Mary’s Church Choir sings at Stone Presbyterian at 5 p.m. Nelson Associates will also be handing out hot chocolate at that time.


The Just Brass Band plays in front of the Burns Agency at 5:30.

The tree-lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. includes a reading of T’was the Night Before Christmas and the Clinton High School Chamber Singers.


The parade goes off at 7 p.m.


Saturday begins early with the seventh annual 5K Jingle Jog at 8 a.m.


Events at the Village Green throughout the day include the Happy Haggs of Central New York Dance at noon and a fire pit with s’mores and hot chocolate from 1 to 4 p.m. Santa will also be in the gazebo during that time.


Both days the Kirkland Town Library will have its annual Jewelry and Holiday Book sale at the library.


Santa wraps up his busy two days with a Community Holiday Skate at the Clinton Arena from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
