Sangerfield Hires New Dog Officer

At their July meeting the Sangerfield Town Board hired a new Dog Control Officer.

Anne Brown was approved for the position.

Wanderers’ Rest was approved as the new dog shelter for Sangerfield.

Town Supervisor Bill Lachmann said he met with the Village of Waterville regarding the proposed Intermunicipal Water agreement.

After the village has their next meeting revisions will be made to the contract and it will be resubmitted to the Town for review again.

The two municipalities have had an informal agreement for Town residents and the Town using the Village’s water system for about 100 years.

This contract would put the matter into written form. In May the Board agreed to purchase a new truck for the Highway Department.

Board members voted at the July meeting to obtain proposals for financing.

The truck will be a 2027 Mack Granite with detachable plow equipment.

The Barton Trust Fund provided a grant of $50,000 towards the cost.

Employees Karl Buschor, Shawn Wiley and Skeeter Jones were thanked for their help with moving filing cabinets.

The meeting adjourned after 37 minutes.
