RS CSD Hires New Teachers

The Richfield Springs Board of Education heard a number of reports at their August meeting.


Superintendent Tom Piatti talked about the teacher shortage and regionalization, among other topics.


He also thanked staff and contractors for preparing the building to open for 2025-26.


Elementary Principal Dr. Rene Wilson discussed enrollment, new staff and the Pre-K Open House.


Secondary Principal Patricia Fagan reviewed the school’s Master schedule, attendance initiatives and orientation for seventh graders.


Board members also adopted goals and objectives for the year.


These include ensuring that all students entering their senior year graduate in June; set target rates for state assessment tests and increase student engagement in all aspects.


A number of policies and regulations were passed, including regarding student use of devices and technology.


A non-resident student was approved to attend RSCSD for annual tuition of $1,000.


The resignation of Earth Science teacher Shaundra Davis was accepted.


New staff hired were Hannah Newcomb as an Elementary teacher; Roma Matott for Secondary Spanish ...
