Richfield Wins $4.5 Million State Grant

The Town of Richfield was awarded $4.5 million from the state last week to revitalize its downtown area.


Richfield was one of three communities in the Mohawk Valley region to receive an award from the Downtown Revitalization Initiative and the NY Forward Program. Herkimer received $10 million and the Village of Boonville also received $4.5 million.


In her announcement made in Herkimer, Gov. Kathy Hochul said, “The Greater Richfield Springs Downtown Area—located in the Town of Richfield and Village of Richfield Springs—is a small community with an outsized passion for the revitalization of its Main Street.


“Richfield’s NY Forward award will build on prior public and prior investments that have set the process of revitalization in motion.
