At their January meeting, the Richfield Springs Village Board heard an update on a property.
Zoning Enforcement Officer Joe Roberts told the Board that after reviewing the property at 43 Langdon Ave. with the Town of Richfield and lawyers it was decided the property lines were accurate.
No different markings were found that separated the property and the Village had no jurisdiction to the property.
In November Smart Tech Timber CEO Dale Spencer attended a meeting about his business at the property.
The Board agreed to have an Outside Residential Water Usage contract drawn up.
Roberts also explained the difference between his job and a Codes Enforcement Officer.
He handles Village local laws, land use permits and property maintenance issues.
Laura Nolan was welcomed to the Richfield Springs Ambulance squad.
Tolga Morawski from Great Mohawk Valley Land Bank said EPA funding will cover the removal of asbestos from 20 Lake St. Then the agency can do renovations.
Two properties the organization owns - 177 and 181 Main St. - will be combined.
Board members approved an Outside User Water District Service contract with the owners of 43 Langdon Ave.
Alice Mahardy informed the Board she was retiring from the Richfield Springs Library Board after 48 years.
That gives the Village Board two seats to fill on the Library Board.
In November, Rebecca Seamon was appointed to the Library Board.
The Board agreed that the Richfield Springs Library will not use the basement in the building until the Village determines it is safely habitable.
The Board entered into a 90- minute executive session regarding employee matters.
Back in public session the Board voted to allow Mayor Richard Spencer to decide on the replacement of the damaged ambulance bumper.
In December, Roberts told the Board he continues to discuss a property on Elm Street extension with an engineer.
