Promoting Clinton Her New Role


In 2018 Isabelle Alexander-Klaboe and her husband relocated to the area from their native Long Island.


They came when Isabelle’s husband took at job at Griffiss Business Park in Rome.


“We loved the area and began looking for a house,’’ Isabelle said.


They found one in Clinton, a place they found themselves drawn to for its activities, including the Farmers Market.


“It’s a great sense of community here,’’ she said.


Now the family includes their son, 3 years old, and a bigger commitment to the community.


Isabella began her new role in October as the executive director of the Clinton Chamber of Commerce.


It was a challenging beginning. Her first event, the Shoppers Stroll after Thanksgiving, fell on the first big storm of winter.


Some activities went on, but others, like the parade, had to be postponed.


But Isabelle’s career has been in community relations, so she said she knows you can plan only so far.
