Projects Requested For Richfield NY Forward

The Town of Richfield is launching an Open Call for project proposals to be considered by the Local Planning Committee for potential inclusion in the Town’s NY Forward Strategic Investment Plan.

Eligible project types include public improvement projects, new development or rehabilitation of downtown buildings, facade enhancements or small-scale building renovations, and branding and marketing initiatives for downtown.

Proposed projects must be located within the Town of Richfield’s NY Forward boundary, be able to break ground within two years of receiving funding, have financing largely in place, and be sponsored by a public, non-profit, or private entity with the legal authority to undertake the project.

Proposed projects near or adjacent to the Richfield NY Forward boundary will also be considered if a statement of justification is provided.

Applications may be submitted to the Richfield Town Hall or by mail and must be received or postmarked by 5 p.m. Aug. 1 to be considered.

Interested project sponsors may access the application form at www.RichfieldForward.org.

Hard copies of the application are also available at the Richfield Town Hall, the Richfield Springs Village Hall, the Richfield Springs Public Library and the Richfield Springs Community Food Cooperative.

The Town’s project consultant, Laberge Group, will hold in-person office hours

June 20, July 10, and July 11 to assist potential project sponsors with their applications.

Additional technical assistance will be offered through virtual appointments. To schedule an appointment, visit the NY Forward website at www.RichfieldForward.org.

The Open Call for Project Proposals is part of the NY Forward program, which awarded the Town of Richfield $4.5 million from New York State for downtown development.

Investment from this program will allow Richfield to develop a Strategic Investment Plan and implement catalytic projects to advance the community’s vision for downtown improvements.
