The Plainfield Town Board met Sept. 10 for their monthly meeting. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Highway Department Superintendent Chad Hazekamp said the culvert upgrades to Pritchard Road bridge are almost done.

The concrete needs to dry and water needs to be diverted before the work can progress.

Millings from the Route 51 paving project will be used in the Town’s pole barn.

Mowing of town roads has been completed as well as shared services with the towns of Exeter, Brookfield and Edmeston.

New brakes and rotors have been purchased for the 2019 plow truck. Suit-Kote has looked at the issue on Camp Road.

The recommendation is the apron leading to Route 20 be scraped down to hard surface and sprayed with calcium at a cost of approximately $500.

Town Clerk Jon Cockett reported $58 was received for marriage and dog licenses.

The Town kept $31.50. Highway abstract bills of $12,730 and General Fund abstract bills of $3,820 were reviewed and approved.

The new website is available to the public. All work injuries will now be reported to the Otsego County Attorney’s Office.

The Board voted to override the state’s 2 percent property tax limit if needed.

If the Tax Collector’s office is vacant for 2028 Otsego County would collect taxes for 749 parcels at a cost of $1,498.

The next meeting is Thursday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m.
