Playoffs Begin For Fall Sports

High school sports action shifts to the Section Three playoffs starting this week.

In field hockey Clinton, with a record of 14-1-1, earned the No. 1 seed in Class C.


The Comets get a bye and will play Sunday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill vs the No. 4 Canastota/No. 5 VVS winner.


The winner of that game goes to the sectional title game at VVS Sunday, Oct. 29, time to be decided.

Mount Markham, at 11-5, is the No, 3 seed. The Mustangs play at home Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 3:30 p.m. vs. No. 6 Homer.

In boys soccer Class B Clinton at 10-5 is the Nov. 4 seed.


The Comets will be home Wednesday at 3 p.m. to take on No. 13 LaFayette.

The winner moves on to play either No. 5 Canastota or No. 12 Little Falls; Clinton would have the home game with a win Wednesday.
