Plainfield Works On Road Repairs

The regular meeting of the Plainfield Town Board was Aug. 14 at the Town Hall.


Supervisor Todd Lewis opened the meeting at 7 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.


The Board entered into Executive Session at the request of Deputy Highway Superintendent Dale Brown.


The executive session ended at 7:45 p.m.


In his report, Brown said one hydraulic cylinder ram on the Gradall has been repaired.


It was learned the other ram may need repair soon. An estimate of $3,700 was received to rebuild the bucket on the loader.


Auctions International has a Gradall for sale at a price of $27,000.


Brown was authorized to make contact and see what the bottom line price is.


Perkins Road ditches are at last cleaned and in good shape.


Trees have also been removed from the side of the road.


The outside keypad that controls power to fuel tanks has burned out.


Rather than expend funds to repair at this time, power will be shut off inside the garage that controls the pumps.


Decaying and dead trees have been removed from Town right-of-way on Fiddlers Green Road.


A thank you was given to the Town of Brookfield for their assistance with manpower and equipment in the above tree removal.


Dirty sand vs. clean sand for winter road use was discussed. Estimate of $13,000 for dirty and $31,000 ...
