Plainfield Views Options For Website

The Regular meeting of the Plainfield Town Board was June 11 at the Town Hall.

Supervisor Todd Lewis opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance Highway Superintendent Chad Hazekamp said the cost to complete Talbot Road resurfacing has increased due to oil prices.

The current 284 agreement will be updated to reflect the increase.

Three metal culvert pipes under Talbot Road have rotted away and will be replaced with plastic pipe.

The Gradall has a bad wiring harness causing some features to not operate. It will be repaired.

It may be an option to sell the Gradall and rent a rubber tired excavator next year.

A new hydraulic outrigger cylinder has been installed on the backhoe.

Complaints about Winter road sand quality have been received.

Hazekamp said the Town has no control of what sand the County brings.

There would be a higher cost to the Town to purchase higher quality sand.

Mt. Markham Trail is on the list to resurface this Summer.

The Highway Abstract of $13,185.71 and General Abstract of $4,136.50 were reviewed and approved.

Final additions and corrections have been made to the Employee handbook and Highway Dept. work rules.

The major change was to pay Highway Department employees for a lunch period.

The repair cost as submitted by the contractor for the Town Hall roof and garage siding was tabled to get another estimate.

The Brockett Creative group was in attendance and presented a design and costs for a new Town website.
