Plainfield Trucks Undergo Repairs

The April meeting of the Plainfield Town Board was at the Town Hall.


Supervisor Todd Lewis opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance Highway Department Superintendent Dale Brown gave the quotes for a new tractor/mower to replace the New Holland.


He said it may be more economical to make repairs to the cab A/C and current mower attachment.


Councilman Mark Stillwell advised he has a contact who can inspect the New Holland and give a recommendation.


Two tires to the Gradall have been damaged.


The Town of Brookfield has six new tires and split rims they would be willing to let go for a donation of $300.


Board members approved the donation.


Brown has spoken to the farmer about the damage to Camp Road.


The farmer is willing to pay half the cost of the material.


Discussion centered on Camp Road being a seasonal road with no maintenance during closure of the road.


Borwn said it had been plowed by the farmer to access a manure pit.


Beavers have caused minor flooding on Saunders Gulf Road.


Town Clerk Jon Cockett will secure a nuisance permit from DEC to remove the

beavers if necessary.


A resident on McCall Road installed their own culvert on Town right of way to access private property.


Brown will remove the culvert after speaking to the resident that culvert installation and maintenance is a Town responsibility.


There was an issue of ownership (Town or State) of Hughes Road.


It was determined it is a Town road with State property on both

sides. ...
