New Staff Start At Richfield Springs School

Richfield Springs Central School welcomed several new employees for the 2021-22 year.


Joining the RS school community this year are Abigail Bliss, 6th Grade Teacher; Lauren Deptula, Elementary Guidance Counselor; Andrew Goldman, Psychologist; Alexis Hungerford, Social Worker; Amber Jaeger, kindergarten teacher; Katrina Knisely, Prep Cook, Cafeteria Cashier; Kaylee Laquay, Resiliency Coordinator; Jenna Lazovik-Skellie, Art Teacher; Michael Magliocca, Earth Science Teacher; Laura Nelson, Psychologist; Chelsea Owen, Secondary Administrative Assistant; Regina Paul, Special Education Teacher; Len Pickens, Groundskeeper/Maintenance; Christina Searles, Prep Cook, Cafeteria Cashier; Julie Smith, Vocal Music Teacher; Daniel Sportello, Teacher Aide; Lauren Stanton, Library Media Specialist; Matthew St. Peter, Jr./Sr. High Principal.


At the RS Board of Education meeting in September, a reception for new staff opened the evening.


During the meeting West & Company CPA Michael Rossi gave a brief report on the external audit performed for year ending June 30. District Treasurer Jodie Rodriguez said she was pleased with the results.


Superintendent Tom Piatti reported the increase in enrollment to 435 with the decrease in students being homeschooled.


He said the National Honor Society will hold a blood drive Oct. 28 and has requested that students working at the blood drive be vaccinated.
