Mustangs Move To 11-4

Mount Markham boys soccer went up against a Herkimer team that played lights out, snapping the Mustangs’ win streak.


The Magicians scored the winning goal early in the second half.


On the play Mt. Markham goalie Dominic Catrombone got hurt, missing the remainder of the game.


Still, the Mustangs defense stepped up, and the offense looked to tie the game the rest of the half.


Herkimer, though, had 11 big saves from their goalie and got the 2-1 win.


Mount Markham took a quick lead on the cold night.


Owen Jones scored off a nice pass from Nate Pcola in the early minutes.


From there Herkimer upped its offense.


Finally a knee-high shot to the left of Catrombone ...
