Memorial Day Parade Debut

This year’s area Memorial Day parade - hosted by Unadilla Forks - will see two new vehicles along the route.

The Bridgewater Fire Department’s new ambulance, which went into service last month, and a new fire truck will be in the lineup.

The parade begins at 11:30 a.m., with lineup on County Highway 18 near Sunset Lane just before the bridge between 10:45 and 11:30.

There will be a short Navy ceremony at the bridge, and then the route will head to the Monument for a wreath-laying ceremony.

Events will conclude at the cemetery.

All organizations in the Mount Markham school district are invited to participate; this includes Scouts, sports teams and groups.

Veterans who want to participate in the parade by riding in a car can call Nancy Cooper at 315-855-4280 to arrange a ride.

The parade at Schuyler Lake begins at 9 a.m. and in Richfield Springs at 10:30 a.m. with a service to follow.

In the Town of Brookfield cemetery events begin at 8 a.m. in Leonardsville, followed by South Brookfield at 8:30, North Brookfield at 9 and a parade in Brookfield at 9:30 a.m.
