Boy Scouts from Troop 108 and the C.J. Fulmer American Legion Post planted a tree on the Legion property in memorial of Austin Furner, who grew up in North Brookfield.
Furner, who served in the Marines after graduating from Waterville Central School, died in a construction accident last summer.
Memorial Day for deceased veterans was observed around the area
Monday.
Former Waterville teacher Matt St. Peter spoke in Waterville about the sacrifices made by those who served and gave their lives.
Andrew Miller spoke in Clinton about the meaning of Memorial Day.
