Memorial Day morning, Monday, May 30, offers a number of ways for people to observe the holiday.
In Waterville the parade down Main Street starts at the Waterville firehouse at 9 a.m., proceeding to Soldiers and Sailors Park. Assemblyman John Salka of Brookfield is the speaker for the ceremony.
The parade in Deansboro begins at 10:30 from the Deansboro firehouse to the Deansboro Cemetery. A ceremony there will honor deceased veterans.
In Oriskany Falls the parade begins at noon and proceeds to Douglass Park for a ceremony.
Clinton’s events kick off with a short ceremony at the bridge near Canal Place before the parade begins at 9 a.m. The route goes to the Village Green, where another ceremony by the VFW and American Legion will conclude the ceremony.
Events in the Town of Brookfield begin with a graveside service at Unadilla Forks at 8:30 a.m., then at the Leonardsville cemetery at 9 a.m. and South Brookfield at 9:30 a.m. A ceremony at 10 a.m. in the North Brookfield Cemetery is followed by the parade in Brookfield at 11 a.m.
