Area communities have planned ceremonies and parades to observe Memorial Day, Monday, May 25.
In Waterville events begin with a parade at 9 a.m. from the Waterville firehouse to Soldiers and Sailors Monument Park.
Retired Waterville teacher Andrew Sabol is the guest speaker.
In Clinton the Memorial Day Parade will start at 9 a.m. at the Oriskany Creek bridge on College Street and proceed east to the Village Green.
A ceremony at the Green will honor deceased veterans.
Johnson-Rogers American Legion in Brookfield will have graveside serves at Unadilla Forks at 8 a.m., South Brookfield at 8:30 and North Brookfield at 9.
The parade in Brookfield is at 9:30 a.m. and the Legion will participate in the parade in Leonardsville.
Deansboro events begin at 10:30 a.m. with the parade followed by a ceremony in Deansboro Cemetery.
The Oriskany Falls parade begins at noon with a ceremony after in Douglass Park.
