This year’s Memorial Day parade and ceremony was hosted by the Village of West Winfield and Town of Winfield.
Parade marchers led the crowd to the Winfield Memorial Park for the observances of Memorial Day.
Retired Navy and Marine officer Kevin Coates spoke about the Garden of Stones, or cemeteries that contain the final resting places of veterans.
The West Winfield American Legion and VFW conducted the tribute in the park that included the Pledge of Allegiance, Taps by the Mount Markham school band and a gun salute.
Mount Markham senior Paige Korosec recited the Gettysburg Address.
In the parade of kids, fire trucks, tractors and local businesses, those on the sidewalks collected candy thrown by the floats.
