State Sen. Joe Griffo met with Pope Francis, who recently passed away.

Cardinals chose an American Pope from Chicago, who chose the name Pope Leo XIV.

Griffo said he found Pope Francis to be a humble, pious and gracious

man.

He embodied love, compassion and acceptance, cared deeply for others and was dedicated to his faith, his church and his service to people.
