Marshall Fills Vacancy

The Marshall Town Board met June 13 following the Pledge and the approval of the meeting of May 9.


Virginia Keith of Bacon Street in Waterville was appointed to fill the Council seat vacated by Colleen Baldwin when she accepted the position of Supervisor. The move to appoint Keith was made by Councilman Bob Blunt and seconded and approved by the Board. She will serve on the Town Board until November, when she will run for a full term.


The Board thanked Kathy Welch and her mother, Rose May, for their help with the landscaping in front of the Town Hall. Also, they are grateful for Sue McConnell, who worked on the Veterans Park before Memorial Day.


Resident Christine Passalacqua asked for the Board’s help with adding mobile homes – now referred to as manufactured homes - to the CDBG. She is the owner of one, and would like assistance with addressing some structural issues with it.


She called Thoma Consulting, who administers the grant. She said she was told mobile homes are not included in the grant and to contact the Board to have that changed.


The Board was not aware they had the authority to dictate the parameters of the grant. Baldwin will contact a representative to have that changed, and will contact Passalacqua.


Deb Turner from VanHyning Road spoke of her concerns with activity near Blueberry Brook Farm Resort.
