The Madison County Fair returns this week with a schedule full of activities.
The Fair, established in 1839, opens at the Fairgrounds in Brookfield Thursday, July 7. The Fair runs through Sunday, July 10.
Events scheduled for all four days include the 4-H station with activities for kids, events at the Grandstand (for an extra $10 admission) and entertainer Buffalo Barfield.
Gate admission is $2 a day, except for Opening Day when it is free with the donation of a non-perishable food item. Senior citizens get in free on Friday.
The Grandstand will feature stockcar racing Thursday night, a hot tractor pull Friday night, a Demolition Derby Saturday at 1 p.m. and tractor pulls Saturday night, and tractor pulls Sunday morning.
The Youth Horse Show and Dairy Cattle Show are Friday morning, with the Goat and Sheep shows Saturday. The Beef Cattle Show is Sunday morning.
Wheelock is providing rides. The Wild World of Animals will also have shows every day.
