Litchfield Seeks A Codes Officer

At their February meeting, the Litchfield Town Board talked about options if the position of Codes Officer becomes vacant.
Board members said it is possible the position will be vacant at the end of June.
They will contact other town boards to see if there is someone serving as a Codes Officer who can fill the position.
Ray Donley is the town’s Codes Officer. At the March meeting it was stated the Town of Frankfort Codes Officer would like to be considered.
Highway and General bank statements and bills were reviewed and approved.
Town Assessor James Fresco was re-appointed for six years, through September 2031.
There is a vacancy on the Board of Appeals.
Town Supervisor Jim Entwistle gave a check for the Fire District of $124,000-plus to Fred Sinclair of the Cedarville Fire Department.
Highway Superintendent Jerry Wheelock is getting quotes for a six-wheel plow truck with sander to replace a truck.
In March he brought two quotes, both around $167,000. The February meeting adjourned with a remembrance of George Casale, who had recently passed away.
He served the Town of Litchfield in a number of capacities. At the Board’s March meeting the annual audit of the Town Court was reviewed and approved.
Board members discussed the need for storage for court records that includes fire protection.
In March Wheelock reported the frame on the 1997 4-wheel-drive truck has cracked, needing repairs.
The old pickup truck was put up for auction and sold for a bid of $27,300. Trash Day in the Town will be Saturday, May 9.
The next Town of Litchfield meeting is April 14.
