Litchfield Officials Sworn In For 2026

The Town of Litchfield received its new Dump Truck with plow last month.


This marks the first new plow for the Town since 1996.


Town officials were sworn in Jan. 1, including a new Highway Department Superintendent.


Cliff Coffin retired after more than 40 years working for the Town.


The Litchfield Town Board met Dec. 9 for their regular meeting.


Members opened the meeting with a discussion about large trucks ignoring postings for seasonal roads in winter.


They discussed the issue with Herkimer County Legislator Ray Donley.


Minutes from the regular November meeting and public hearing were accepted.


Town Supervisor Jim Entwistle said a CD for $238,383 was renewed for two years.


He gave updates on other financial accounts. General Fund bills were approved, including $52,000 for the new pickup truck. Highway Fund bills.
