June 22 Will Be Day Of Remembrance In Town

The Town of Kirkland will encourage people to pause on Monday, June 22 and reflect on the three lives lost a year ago that day in a tornado that ripped through Clark Mills.


Kirkland Supervisor Garry Colarusso read a Proclamation at last week’s Town Board meeting declaring the day one of Remembrance for Emily and Kenni Bisson, and Shelly Johnson.


Members of their families attended the meeting. Emily and Kenni, 6-year- old twins, and Johnson, all died in the early morning of June 22, 2025 when the tornado uprooted trees that hit their homes.


Much of the community suffered damages to their property as well.


The Proclamation reads, in part:


“WHEREAS, the strength and compassion of individuals leave lasting impressions upon heir families, friends, and the broader community; and WHEREAS, Emily Bisson, Kenni Bisson, and Shelly Johnson are remembered for their lives, their presence, and the meaningful connection they shared with those around them; and WHEREAS, their memories continue to inspire reflection, love, unity, and remembrance among all who knew them and all who honor their legacy; and ...
